Transparent Night is a senior capstone project designed with the intention to integrate building with site in order to appreciate the surrounding landscape without being visually disruptive. With sweeping windows peeking over the edge of the shoreline and a hilly incline, one would never know a building resides just below the surface of the site. Each moment is carefully designed keeping humans and nature at the forefront of the mind.
Cherry Hall is a food court being designed in Johnson City, Tennessee. The space is equipped with over 15 vendor spaces, a dining area, and an upstairs bar and terrace. The developers wanted to maintain the pre-existing, neutral color palette and to utilize the exposed brick interior and rustic exterior facade.
BHS Corrugated is a 31,000 square foot manufacturing facility located in Knoxville, Tennessee. The site was designed with future expansion and added employment in mind. The developers asked for a “high tech” exterior while maintaining natural landscaping. These exterior renders show the natural life around the facility despite its metal facade.
Veiled Craft is a microschool designed in Knoxville, Tennessee for students interested in fabric making. In order to best utilize the small square footage, there is no wasted space to interior walls. Instead, users can create spaces autonomously with fabric curtains which are tethered to a grid system in the ceiling. This system allows the space to completely open up for increased mobility or to be closed off for privacy.
